Genting Highland

Genting Highlands is a popular hill resort in Malaysia, located about an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur. Nestled at an altitude of 1,800 meters, it offers a cool climate, stunning mountain views, and a variety of attractions. Known as the "City of Entertainment," it features world-class casinos, theme parks, luxury hotels, shopping malls, and vibrant nightlife.

February 21, 2025, was a day to remember—my birthday, and what better way to celebrate than with an exciting trip to Genting Highlands! But before heading up to the cool hill resort, my day started with something truly special—a visit to Batu Caves.

Morning Blessings at Batu Caves 🙏🏽✨

The day began on a spiritual note as we climbed the iconic 272 colorful steps leading to the Batu Caves temple. The towering golden Murugan statue greeted us at the entrance, setting the perfect tone for the day. The cave’s peaceful ambiance and the divine energy made me feel grateful for the year ahead.

And then, something unexpected happened—while walking, a pigeon decided to bless me (yes, it pooped on my back!). At first, I was taken aback, but a kind stranger smiled and told me it’s considered a sign of good luck. That little incident gave me a good laugh and an optimistic start to my new year!

Up the Mountains: The Genting Highlands Experience 🚠🏔️

From Batu Caves, we headed straight to Genting Highlands, a stunning hill resort known for its cool climate, breathtaking views, and world-class attractions. The journey began with an exciting cable car ride, a 15-20 minute journey that felt magical. As we ascended, the scenery transformed into a sea of lush green forests, and the crisp mountain air was refreshingly cool—setting the mood for an adventurous day!

Exploring the Highlands: Fun, Food & Shopping! 🛍️🍽️

Once at the top, we soaked in the chilly weather (a rare treat in Malaysia!) and clicked some memorable group pictures. Hunger kicked in, so we grabbed a delicious lunch at one of the many food spots before heading out to explore.

Our next stop? The massive shopping mall inside Resorts World Genting. Even if we weren’t shopping much, walking through the high-end stores, luxury boutiques, and quirky souvenir shops was an experience in itself!

Casino Experience: Trying Our Luck! 🎲💰

As the evening set in, we decided to check out Genting Casino, a place buzzing with excitement. Something unique we noticed—there were no Muslims inside, as it’s restricted for them. Also, foreigners were only allowed with passports.

The casino had two floors—the first one had lower-stake games, making it beginner-friendly. We got a casino card, loaded it with 10 ringgets, and played a few rounds. Some we won, some we lost, but we were careful not to get carried away. It was all about having fun and making memories!
